I think it may be about time to retire the flip flops for the season. It's one thing to have wet, frozen toes from the snow...but slipping around like a moron, that's getting too far.
It's hard though...flip flops are my favorite walking shoes.
Is it just me, or is walking the best thinking time? (Especially without music and phones and such). Just you, the path and your thoughts.
Today, I saw some McDonald's trash...from there I decided I really kind of wanted a McDonald's apple pie. I haven't had one for at least 3 years, and from my memory at least, I thought they were pretty delicious.
So one day soon...I will have one.
Then I remember thinking I wanted to watch Hercules. I'm not entirely sure where that train of thought came from...but it seems like a pretty good idea to me.
Recall from my last post, we had quite a bit of Halloween candy leftover. So to use up some of the Reese (even though there's certainly not a problem in that regard...), I made some cookies! And they were pretty scrumptious!
I've mentioned Sally here before (from Sally's Baking Addiction), and I'm sure I'll mention her again, but I basically followed this recipe for Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies pretty exactly.
Chocolate, peanut buttery cookies stuffed with chunks of Reese and then drizzled with melted peanut butter! Mmmm~! So good...and also quite chocolately, so the good news is, you can't eat a bunch in a row (or potentially at least not AS many)! :D
Aren't they so cute all lined up on the right?? :3
Drizzling the peanut butter was the best part...
Those cookies on the left? Also a recipe from Sally.
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.
They were good....they just weren't AS good. But I'm not a huge pumpkin fan.
I wanted to be...I've tried it and don't mind pumpkin pie now...but alas, it will never be a favorite.
At the Early Thanksgiving dinner, I had some pumpkin cheesecake pie and thought it was SO GOOD!
So I thought maybe I would experiment with a few recipes using pumpkin. I went to Sobey's and the only pumpkin puree they had was a MASSIVE can...at least twice the size of all other cans. And I was excited!
The excitement soon faded away...
I tried a few recipes...I realized I kind of find pumpkin puree to be repulsive...and then I was just done and I flushed the rest away.
HEY! You try dealing with that orange mush!
Maybe I'll just stick to eating pumpkin things that OTHER people make ;)
(PS. Apple pie IS and will ALWAYS BE the #1 pie...just saying...)
So that's that.
What do you figure?
What do you think of pumpkin?
Have any experiences yourself?
Have you retired your flip flops?
OH! Any plans for the weekend?
Enjoy your weekend.
Trudy out.
Love you too.

Weekend Shenanigans: Fish, DQ, and still sick...
So this past weekend, Scotty came home! I got to pick him and some fish up from the airport.
Yuck. (Not Scott, the fish).
I'm not a fan ;)
Then we got to hang out with Ben and Frances a bit, which was nice because it had been a while... Probably almost a month?
We got together for ice cream cake from DQ (as per our tradition) for Frances' birthday (which was the day before).
They also told us some big news! Not my place to share...on here for sure. But congratulations guys!
Sunday afternoon, the Russell's (well Russell girls, from Strathmore) came in to see the house, see the new kitten, and to share some delicious brownies and home made ice cream. A delicious treat indeed ;)~!
All weekend I had a squeaky...almost nonexistent voice due to my cold, and although my voice has come back...I'm still feeling sick :(
SO once again, I'm hoping I can get rid of it soon!
Fairly low key weekend on my end...
Was your weekend more eventful than mine??
At least less fishy?
Love you too.
xo T
PS. Did you see that my spider story came to an end?
PPS. We should probably end on a Bruce note ;)

Weekend Shenanigans: TOMS, cookies, and babies!
Oh right...blooooooggg. It hasn't been that long, has it?
Pretty well a week, not so bad!
Did you have a splendid weekend?
What's going on out there?
Here's what Scott and I have been up to . . .
. . . hanging out with the Ben and Frances! It was a gorgeous day on Saturday and we played outside for a little bit, walked for some ice cream and made some dinner. PLUS there was watermelon, which is always awesome ;).
Needlesstosay, it was a good time and we all got some sun :D
. . . made some cookies! Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Sally was what I chose...and they were pretty scrumptious! I followed her recipe fairly exactly, I just added a few less chocolate chips and sprinkles because I thought they looked alright!
They were so soft and fluffy and disappeared far too quick! Guess I should've made a double batch!
. . . went to a baby blessing/shower. It was Scott 2 (my nephew) and his wife Chantae's baby... little Scott Eli. (So many Scott's O.O ...but I think they more call him Eli). Such a little cutie! This is the event I made the cookies for and I figured a couple dozen would be alright for the potluck, but they sure disappeared quickly! My sister Marcie, made some Rice Krispie squares with melted Mars bars and butter and they were SO GOOD! You don't even know... *drool*
. . . I bought my second pair of TOMS. I've been converted! They're just so comfortable and easy to slip on! Green! :D
(Paige, now you have to get yours so we can be twinsies!)
. . . we saw a couple of movies. On Friday night, we saw Oblivion which was pretty good. It was kind of an interesting movie with a few unexpected twists...I liked it!
I'd probably give it ***.5(3.5)/5 stars. I'd recommend it for those interested in sci-fi/futuristic-y type movies.
Last night, we saw Iron Man 3 which I'd also say is just pretty good. Robert Downey Jr. is a very enjoyable actor (in my opinion). It was well done and I enjoyed it but I didn't walk away thinking - WOW, that was awesome! Overall a good continuing of the story. But I'd still definitely recommend if you're interested in those movies.
(PS, if you DO go see it, there's a clip at the end of the credits...but I personally don't think the clip was worth waiting through all the credits for).
I'd also give this movie a ***.5(3.5)/5 stars.
It looks like there's some good movies coming out soon though!
That's my weekend for the most part!
Now share YOUR weekend!
What's your most exciting event?
Have you seen Oblivion or Iron Man 3?
What did you think?
Love you too.

Let's all run away :D
Why is the weekend over?
Is it ever long enough??
Not in my opinion.
I've been considering putting some pictures of our place up. You want??
You know what I want?
I want to go for a trip!
Where to?
Anywhere! Lets-a go! ;)
It was a fairly eventful weekend for us.
Let's begin.
Friday night.
Got home from work, watched a couple shows and then tried to convince Scott to go to Hot Yoga with me @ 8 PM. He's been before, and even said he liked it the first time around. But I guess the second time he went, it left a foul taste in his mouth...because it took a LOT of convincing this time.
HOWEVER we DID finally go and he liked it :D And he's even willing to go again - HOORAY!
It's fun to have a yoga buddy ;)
Saturday
I got up on the early side (for a Saturday) to go to hot yoga AGAIN for the 8 AM class. Scott wasn't interested on getting up for this one, but it was a really good class :D
Then I came back home for a little breaky and to get a few things done before we headed out to pick up some groceries - yay food!
After getting everything all packed away, we both had to get ready because Ben and Frances would be coming soon!
We then got all piled into Scott's truck to head to Southland for some swimming...it had been awhile!
We were meeting some other people there, but they didn't arrive til a bit later.
It was great to see Benson again and meet his new girlie, Kate-Lynn. Sorry things didn't really work out as planned, but we'll have to get together again soon ;)
Also nice to see a few people from the old crowd.
We were all swum out after a couple hours and were ready to go find some food!
So to iHop we went for some delicious, breakfasty (for me) food.
And then it was back to our place to watch Gladiator! Needlesstosay, Frances and I did not make it to the end. It had been a long day and we were exhausted! x.x
Sunday
We spent some more time with Ben and Frances and had some more good food!
Then Scott and I got to relax together and I got things ready for my morning routine.
What did YOU do over the weekend??
Want to hang out this weekend? ;)
Love you too.

PS. I finally tried THE Mat. I ended up keeping the blue instead of playing it safe and exchanging for black, despite the reviews where people had complained of some staining.
I've only used it 3 times...but so far, so good - no staining!
Yes, it's a much heavier mat and it doesn't stay rolled up very easily...but I've decided that I really like it!
I'm able to stick in place MUCH easier than on the old mat.
HOWEVER, if the class is EXTREME hotness and I'm pouring sweat, the mat will still get slippery.
So I'm not sure if I need to get an actual yoga towel or if I'm good with regular towels...but I guess I'll see and learn as I go.
And in regards to the rubber smell, I aired mine out for a few weeks and also gave it a bath (yes, really), so it was not bad at all. Yes, it does still smell a little bit, but I don't notice it at all during yoga so it's alright.
So far, I like it. I'll keep you updated once I've used it a bit more :)

Past Weekend
Ok, ok...just quick.
I was thinking to myself... Well, if I don't get the post up from the weekend, then I guarantee it won't be discussed.
So let's just get 'er done. Right? RIGHT!
Friday PM/Saturday AM, was probably one of our first 'major' (whatever that means) cleans since getting the house 2 weeks prior. Full on sweep, vacuum, mopping (well...Swiffer Wetjet), bathrooms, etc.
Looks good yo! Maybe I'll even get some pictures up sometime ;)
So why the big cleaning sesh?
Well first off, it was probably necessary.
Second, we had guests coming over!
Guests?
Tyler and Holly! Scott's cousin (Tyler) and wife (Holly), whom we hadn't seen since New Year's (even though apparently I didn't mention anyone in the post...go me).
(They have a blog here, but it hasn't been updated in quite some time...*nudge nudge*)
Menu?
Taco fiesta! We hadn't had taco's in a LONG while and we were craving them...so ya! Taco's!
Holly and Tyler brought an apple, strawberry, blackberry - crumbleish dessert that was SO GOOD! Delish~!
Events?
Well obviously, LOTS of talking...but we also watched a movie as per Scott's request.
'Take Me Home Tonight' which is actually not that old (2011) but it's set in the 80's.
Here's the description from IMDb...
"Four years after graduation, an awkward high school genius uses his sister's boyfriend's Labor Day party as the perfect opportunity to make his move on his high school crush."
And that basically sums it up...with lots of great 80's tunes along the way!
To me, it was just ok. There were funny parts, there were stupid parts, but overall it was alright.
I'd probably only give it **.5(2.5)/5.
You, movie, were just ok to me.
These were the main events from our weekend.
Thanks SO much Holly and Tyler for coming and for the scrumptious dessert!
We shall have to do it again soon :)
(OH! Sunday I also made these banana muffins courtesy of Sally, which were also scrumptious, no thanks to me not following the recipe all that well. Heh heh. And of course, I have no pictures. Just look at hers, they're better anyways. Just believe me, they're good!)
I know it's been a while...but what did you get up to this past weekend?
And hey, lets get the ball rolling early...what's your plans for this weekend?
(since it's almost here!)
Hope all is well out there!
Love you too.

The Host
Ok, not a ton has been going on...so nothing really to talk about.
Living life, y'know?
This past weekend, Scott and I got some Ben and Frances time in again. YAY!
Pretty well half the day! It was nice :)
(After a morning Hot Fusion class with Paige...challenging, but awesome!)
It started out at our place and then we ventured into the land of downtown Calgary!
Did I take any pictures? No. Because I'm the worst blogger ever -.-
It was a cold, foggy day.
Frances had to take some pictures at the Olympic Plaza for a project for school. Scott was taking pictures as well, because he likes to. I was just meandering around being all chilly like...ok, I was also terrorizing all surrounding birds because that's what I do.
We then headed back to our place, after picking up Wendy's :D YAY!
Then Scott and Ben went to Conference and for wings while Frances and I had our own adventure.
Started with grabbing a couple groceries quick while some 50% off Easter candy was also gotten, then back home quickly and then to the movies!
What was in store for us?
The Host!
Heard of it?
Based off a book written by Stephenie Meyer (yes, think Twilight...). But in my opinion, this book was BETTER than the Twilight series. Nothing to do with vampires.
Basically the premise being that since humans are so violent, they're slowly killing each other off SO another species steps in.
Not aliens like you see in other movies, but basically, an alien like thing. They're small and can only survive while either implanted in another being - a host! - or if in a special capsule to travel between worlds.
However, after the humans are being hosted, they're no longer themselves...and their will and personality can slowly fade away.
The story follows a girl and a few surviving humans that haven't been taken over.
That's all I'll say in regards to the story.
I personally thought it was very well cast and I liked it!
My rating of this movie will probably be a little off because I haven't seen a movie in quite a while, but I'm actually going to give it ****(4)/5! I enjoyed it!
It's definitely a little bit more on the chick flicky end of things....but I recommend it regardless! Any other questions, feel free to ask!
Sunday, we went to Rob and Mel's place for a crepe feast while Conference was on. It was VERY delicious...thanks Rob and Mel (and little Kiera)!
There's a few things to share in regards to George, but that can wait for another day ;)
How was your weekend??
What movies have YOU seen lately?
Love you too.

Little Yoda
Ok, ok, ok. I'm here! Life is still good! The weekend came and went (too quickly for my likings...as per ush...).
What did YOU do this weekend? Any adventures??
Our weekend was pretty busy...but not everything can be shared yet ;)
What I CAN share with you is...
1. Scott has been in town since Friday... and he goes back out again tomorrow. But he shouldn't been gone too too long this time around. Spring breakup is here!
2. We went to Brava to celebrate our engage-aversary!
We got engaged February 15, 2012 and went to Brava that night before it happened (it's a delicious, slightly expensive restaurant {comparable in price to, say...The Keg}). We had planned on going there on our actual engage-aversary, but it just didn't happen. But it didn't matter, it was still delicious ;)
3. I showered George.
I don't shower George every week anymore... Want to know why? George is a big cat. Sure I can shower him, but I do get clawed...a lot. So now he's all fluffy again (and I'm all clawed...) :D
4. I may have killed our Dyson vacuum.
Needless to say, Scott was not impressed. BUT, in my defense, I wasn't doing anything wrong! I was just vacuuming and then, all of the sudden, it quit. So, it sucks...but it should technically be under warranty because we've only had it for like...7 months.
5. HOT YOGA
I've now gone to all 3 levels of Moksha Hot Yoga (Moksha, Moksha Flow, and Hot Fusion) because I don't aim for a certain difficulty. I just pick the time I want to go and whatever it is, it is. SO, I've learned that the other 2 levels are fairly challenging but I love them nonetheless (not during the class though...).
Scott joined me on Sunday morning and I've now gone 8 days in a row - YAY~!
6. Daylight savings time sucks.
Why is it still there? Does anyone actually like it??
7. This weekend I got up at 7am on both days regardless of the weekend and daylight savings. (So I pretty well got up at 6 on Sunday... good yoga class though!).
8. Scott finally packed up his office...so it no longer looks like a bomb went off - YAY!
9.We went out for sushi Saturday night with Ben and Frances :D It was delicious and fun.
...and then we went out for Blizzards ;)
10. And last, but certainly not least...I saw this sticker when coming back from yoga Sunday AM.

Is it just me, or do you find this awesome as well?? :D
Especially little yoda...
So that was my weekend... now share yours!
The sun has been out, and I hope it stays!
Love you too.
