U. Unknown fact about me?

Woah. Life got away from me again. I got caught up in things and put the blog on the backburner...yet again.
Isn't that alright?
Well sure! It's alright sometimes...but I just got lazy with it and have been focusing on a few other things.
Not necessarily a warranted neglect. Sorry!!
Good to be back though!
I've been trying to get caught up on all you fine folk's blogs out there!I love hearing about your lives and I've been missing you!
Don't worry, I know you missed me too.
Where was I last time?
Ah yes! I was talking about goodies that I love getting from the US of A, Justin's Almond Butter's in particular.
Have you tried them?
Well you should!
SO, as I mentioned in the last blog...I happened to try the Maple flavor and I FELL IN LOVE. No joke.
Definitely delicious, especially with apple slices ;)
If you read my last post, you'd know I just could NOT resist getting me some more ASAP so I placed an order (on Tuesday night) and it wasn't even TOO expensive!
Thursday, early afternoon, my sweet treat had arrived!!
It's just as delicious if not better ;)
Thanks iHerb, for satisfying my craving!
(Only thing I kind of forgot...there was a tax/duty to pay on arrival for shipping food across the border. BOO! Still worth it though...).
I have yet to try the Vanilla kind, I was just curious so I figured I may as well got a bottle of it as well!
Just nut butters?? What else?
No, that's not all (though it's a pretty big part).
Scott and I have also been working on making things more homey (not to be mistaken with homely) around here! Pictures and shelves and such...still a work in progress! I'll be sharing some soon if you wish ;)
Unfortunately, Scott will be having to go back to work pretty soon as well. :(
That's no fun...but alas, we knew it would be coming eventually!
I'm just lucky I got more time with him than was to be expected!
I've still been going to hot yoga...still loving it! And I even made a new friend. She's very nice and she's going to be getting married in just over a week - congratulations!
Still have 2 kittens...they're still cute, fuzzy and annoying.
Weather has been all kinds of CRAZY here! No more flooding (yet...), but it goes from hot and sunny one second, to crazy thunderstorms and hail the next. CALM DOWN!
(Though, because of all the rain is the reason Scott is still home... it's bittersweet I suppose).
I'm going to try getting blogs up more often, but I hope this will do for now :)
Love you too.
Have you been getting thunderstorms like crazy?? What're you up to this Summer? Does life distract you sometimes?? ;)
I don't know if you knew this....but I'm a sweetsy person (one who likes sweets); especially chocolate, cereal, and well...ice cream.
I also like salty treats from time to time, but my heart lies with sweet things.
As you know, Scott and I recently got back from Texas...and whenever I venture down to the States, I ALWAYS pick up a few goodies that we don't have here in Canada.
The US just always has more of a selection - not fair.
So I picked up a couple bags of Milky Way Simply Caramel (those are delish), some Jolly Rancher Jelly Beans (also tasty), a box of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch (yay!), and even a few nut butters.
I read quite a few blogs of people who live somewhere in the US of A (I'm VERY behind though...sorry guys!), so I always see tasty treats they pick up from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (organic type grocery stores).
The last couple times down South, I made it a priority to check out these places. Last year, I didn't make it to a Whole Foods but at Trader Joe's, we picked up some Cat Cookies, Cookie Butter and a few other things and it was very exciting for me to try them. (Yes, they were scrumptious).
This year, we made it a priority to hit both places. We got one more container of Cat Cookies from TJ and there was a specific thing that I reeeaaaallly wanted from Whole Foods. Think Nut Butters...can you guess?
Ya, it was Justin's Almond Butters. I had heard nothing but good things about them, and I was so excited to FINALLY get my paws on some!
Now this WF didn't have a huge selection...so I just picked up what they had.
A jar of Honey Almond Butter, jar of Chocolate Almond Butter and then a couple of the little squeeze packages of Maple Almond Butter to try (as they didn't have the jars).
I left happy though, that I'd get to try these delicious things :D
So when I got back to Canada, I cracked open a little package of the Maple Almond Butter to have with an apple one day and WOW~! It was good! :3 So flavorful!
About a week later, I needed to have the other one...I couldn't save it any longer. AND it was just as delicious.
But then... my 2 little Maple Almond Butter packs...were gone :'(
A few days later, I decided to crack into my Honey Almond Butter to see how it compared....and although it was tasty, it just didn't quite compare with the Maple.
So what's a Trudy to do?
Wait until the next trip South in hopes of finding some more?
Make a friend who will send me my fix over the border?
Just give up and move on?
OR...look online and order some? ;)
My 2 jars and a 10 little packages will be here 2-6 days - YAY!
If you haven't tried, I'd HIGHLY recommend ;)
Have you tried Justin's? Favorite flavor? Do you pick up different foods/treats/products when you visit different places?? Love you too.
PS. All this talk of 'Maple kind' reminded me of this ridiculous video...have you seen it??
About 3 years ago, I made the journey up to Calgary. Not long after, I met a fine fellow named Scott whom I quickly became good friends with. About a year later, we started dating and about 6 months after that...we were engaged! (Crazy, I know).
1 year ago today, July 14th 2012, Scott and I tied the knot!
Is married life perfect?
No. But I didn't expect it to be either. Even relationships with best friends and family have their rocky moments.
Was it worth it?
Yes. Married life is definitely an adventure with many ups and downs (yes, like a roller coaster and all that jazz) but it's fun!
I love having Scott around and I still miss him whenever he's gone.
So here's to us...but especially, here's to Scott!
I'm so happy I could meet you and marry you because you're my best friend. :D
You can always make me laugh...love you :)!!
Love you too
PS. Happy approximate George's 1st Birthday as well!
You know how I went to hot yoga (after 2 and a half weeks of no yoga) and all was just fine and dandy?
Well, sure it was fine DURING, but later that evening and the next day...I was SORE!
Good sore...but sore nonetheless.
You know what also happened yesterday?
Tammy, Conner and Tyler (family from Texas) flew in.
They just missed us TOO much ;)
SO, we picked them up and then we headed to the Stampede! (Calgary's rodeo/exhibition/fair/etc)
Not only was it HOT, it was CRAZY BUSY! I'm pretty sure it was Kids Day...greaaat -.-
But we still had a lot of fun!
. . .Fun rides (though we didn't get to do as many as we'd like because the lines were all crazy like)
. . .Deliciously horrible foods (fried bread, deep fried oreos, pineapple whip, poutine, root beer, and LOTS of lemonade)
. . .Exploring the stands of things for sale and buying a few things :D
. . .Discovering there's now a new model of Vitamix (7500) that just came out that's not only more conveniently sized and powerful, but also more quiet. DANG IT!
. . .Getting a little bit burnt even though I'd just been in Texas for 2 weeks. Though I guess it's my own fault for not putting any sunscreen on, PLUS it was a long day. And Scott was more burnt than me ;) Poor Scotty.
Here's a few things from Stampede from 2011 and 2012.
Anyways...FUN TIMES! Thanks guys for hanging out with us! Have fun in Lethbridge ;)
Today I got to come into work...that's never fun after time off. But I guess it's nice to make a little money after vacation. Needless-to-say, getting up at 5:30 and going to hot yoga after almost 3 weeks of waking up at my leisure... just DID NOT happen. Oh well! Do you have a local rodeo/fair? Have/are you going??
Love you too.
PS. YES, I realize I should take my phone around with me and take more pictures...but generally, it just doesn't happen!
