2013 at a (long...ish) Glance

(I've been meaning to get this out for about...16 days now but I kept putting it off).
It takes quite a while! And it's also fairly lengthy...lots of pictures!

Well, 2013 is officially over. Seems like just yesterday that it was beginning!
Here's what happened with us throughout the year...

...I left behind my old blog and started anew here!

...Georgey got fixed.

...I've eaten a lot of ice cream...especially during DQ sales...

...Scott and I left behind our first little apartment together and bought a new house!

...I completed a 30 day hot yoga challenge and I've still been loving it ever since!

(Google images)

...I realized I love TOMS, so comfy!

...I had a spider haunting my vehicle...

...we added another fuzzy cutie to the family! Bruce!

...we went to Texas! Fun times!

...we celebrated our one year anniversary!

...I completed a survey so you could get to know a bit more about me!

...little Brucey got fixed. I remembered how horrible drugged up cone headed kittens are...

(cute yes...but mainly horribly irritating...)

...I test drove a bunch of vehicles, but eventually decided upon a shiny new Subaru!
(about a week later, I ended up with a big ol' crack in the windshield...)

...I did some thinking, and decided to go back to school!

...some Smile Cookies from Tim Horton's were enjoyed!

...I started and finished all the Jane Austen books...and I also decided to withdraw from school (not necessarily related...but they were in the same post).

...I got some color put in my hair for the first time! Purple!
(Sorry, it's more difficult to see in pictures...)

...cookies were baked! Quite a few cookies...

(mmmm~!)

...Christmastime was nice to see both sides of the family :)
(Had some good times with Hettie while she was here).

(Our "family photo")

And that pretty well sums up our year (give or take a few things here and there)!
The biggest things would probably be... buying a house, buying a new vehicle, and my decisions with school (and a couple things not blog worthy).

What're your big memories from 2013??
What're you looking forward to in 2014?

Thanks for sticking with me!

Love you too.

Early Thanksgiving!

Oh, hey there!

How was YOUR weekend?

I tried to get lots done and to get ahead on things because Scott came home on Sunday and he'll be around until Friday - YAY!

Then on Sunday, we headed into Strathmore for one of these guys...

Just as delightfully cute and chocolately delicious as last year.
(It's a turkey made of chocolate - duh...)

And then we got the full (real) turkey feast. (Yes, it's a week early...I was excited).
It was fantastic.
I was full.
After a couple hours, dessert was served! Apple pie, and pumpkin cheesecake pie. What?!
Yes...so good.

After all this, I was stuffed to the brim and almost to the stage of food coma.
So... standard Thanksgiving practise ;)

Oh! One more thing, my sweet little Subie (Subaru, yes) had its 1000 (km) birthday!

Getting old! Still loving it!
(Not the crack though... :<)

What're you looking forward to this Thanksgiving??
I bet you don't get a sweet little chocolate turkey ;)

Love you too.

The chosen one!

As most of you know, I've been looking at and test driving some vehicles to find my new snazzy car (well...vehicle, not necessarily car).

And the moment has arrived. Yes, I have chosen!

Any guesses?

Here's one hint...

It's a Subaru!

The Subaru Forester is the winner! Yay!
And I got to pick it up last night ^^

So pretty :3
When I picked it up, it only had 11 km on it. Seems so crazy to me!
This is where I was sitting at today...

I've driven basically any old vehicle  my whole life, so it's very exciting to have my own (with Scott) brand new vehicle!

As I drove away from the dealership, I was scared...
What if someone crashes into my beautiful new car?!
It's so perfect right now!

When it came down to making a decision, they're all beautiful cars. I looked into safety ratings and reviews and in the end, Subaru was just my favourite! It had better visibility than most of the others, pretty reliable reviews, and good safety ratings.

Plus, I just love it!

Happy Trudy :D!

Be excited for me!

Love you too.

PS. I'm not a huge fan of the new car smell....but I love it anyways, because I have a new car? :D

A look in the past!

September?? What?!!?

I can't even believe it.
The days are getting shorter, leaves are starting to change color and fall, and Summer is quickly coming to an end. (Though you wouldn't know it by how often the ice cream truck comes by...)

And I'm trying to blog a little more often, yes for you, but mainly for me and my record keeping.
I like to look back at my posts and the ridiculousness I've been through :)

Approximately a year ago here's what was going on...

...I was getting married!  (Ok...slightly over a year ago, but close enough!)
Leaving behind the single life and moving onto a pretty big adventure (if I do say so myself).
It has not been easy, but overall...I've loved it! And I love you Scott :)
(I'm allowed to be sentimental and lame from time to time...this is my writing place!)

(picture c/o Mel...and my Facebook)

(picture c/o Dar...and also my Facebook)

...Honeymoon! We weren't able to take our honeymoon until the mid to end of August. We went to California and had a great time! I miss it...and the many fro-yo trips ;)

...George-aversary! Almost exactly a year ago, we had a honeymoon kitten. :D I found some adorable kittens on kijiji and knew I NEEDED one. I fell in love with a little ball of fluff and adorable-ness!
He's still cute and fluffy...but now he acts like he's a crotchety, old grandpa cat. Let's blame Bruce.
Very happy I got you George, even though it seems like you hate me sometimes...)

(and an extra picture, because he's so dang cute)

...I got in a car accident. Let's not talk about it. Instead let's hope and pray that my driving luck has changed for the better! Especially since I've been looking for brand new cars!

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...

...SMILE COOKIES! If my blog knows one thing, it's that smile cookies (from Tim Horton's) should be coming out in the next couple weeks. YAAYYYYYY!
There's just something about that smile...

AND 2 YEARS AGO...

...I was just ridiculous...ly awesome! You should go read some of my older posts (if you want). They're...interesting... ;)

Well that was certainly fun for me, and I hope you guys didn't mind it either ;)

Hey, if nothing else...those were the first wedding pictures to make it to the blog!
I'm horrible...

Do you remember anything major from a year ago??
And (you Canadian's) have you heard anything about the smiling cookies??

Love you too.

PS. That news I mentioned is still coming...patience!

Ouuu...Subaru!

You remember how we're looking at vehicles??

Well yesterday, not only did I get to see Whitney (I've missed you!), but she also came with me on my final test drive of...Subaru's!

I drove an Impreza, Crosstrek, Outback, and 2 Foresters.

Why 2 Foresters?
Well because one was Turbo, meaning it was ridiculously speedy and awesome (and expensive...).

I liked the Impreza, but it was a little small for my likings.
Crosstrek was better.
Outback...not a big fan.
Forester...was fun :) Nice and spacious.

I really enjoyed it!

Anyone know much about Subaru?
They seem like a good, reliable brand that holds their value well.

I appreciate all the advice and opinions I've gotten so far...
Anyone have anything else to add?
Any more thoughts?

Thanks again!

Love you too.

P.S. I bathed my kittens today so now they smell like coconut delight and are extra soft and fluffy :3

Zoom zoom - Help me!

In my last post, I mentioned I've been test driving some vehicles...so I'll share more on that today!

At first, we were looking at used vehicles but with the way financing and rates and warranty are, it almost seems best to get brand new.
What's your opinion?

So far, I've mainly been testing out SUV's. I like being higher off the ground, I like the spaciousness, and I like the option to have AWD or 4WD.

They're all fairly comparable...but I will share a few things about them and what I've driven so far.

Hyundai
Tucson: I liked how it was a nice compact SUV...but it felt very gutless.
Santa Fe: Very nice, was revamped and is now comparable to luxury vehicles. Bad blind spots. But powerful.

Dodge
Journey: Horrible...'nuff said.

Honda
CR-V: Quite nice with some cool features. Very safe...one of the highest safety ratings.

Mazda
CX5: Zoom zoom! Felt speedy. Very light. Has sensors on the mirror if someone is beside you. One of the only one's made in Japan.

Ford
Escape: Wasn't a fan of the interior. Quite expensive for features that come standard in the others.

Chevrolet
Trax: Nice and small. Gutless.
Equinox: Powerful because there's a V6 option... but a little big.

Toyota
Matrix: Larger car. Was fun and compact but still prefer the space of an SUV. But little to no blind spots.
Rav 4: Not as bad blind spots as other SUVs. Nice interior. Fun ride.

Nissan
Rogue: Very similar to the Mazda...exterior and ride wise. Doesn't have the sensor on the mirrors like the Mazda...but has slightly bigger mirrors for more visibility.

One bad thing about these, is most of them are pretty bad for visibility...but you (or I, rather) would just have to rely on mirrors more.
And I am still wanting to test out a couple Subaru's.

Have you heard anything about these?
Any opinions/experiences would be appreciated :)

Love you too.
