Uninvited 'Guest'

So there's been a few hot days here (not lately...because it's been rainy) and when it's hot, I like to leave my sunroof open to let a little fresh air in.
Well recently, a little something crept in... making the fresh air most definitely NOT worth it.

Now I wouldn't say I have many fears...but bugs and especially spiders (and moths) are pretty up there on my list. (Right behind not being able to have ice cream). It's not a huge issue when they're outside, but when they're in my house or in an small space with me...that's a BIG issue.

At first all I could see was the big web on the right part of my windshield...and as much as I wanted to, I knew I couldn't wipe that away.
Why? Well because then who knows where that critter will go??!
At least when there's a web, he'll generally keep close to that!

After about a week of living (or driving, rather) in a state of fear, the spider unveiled itself...and it was BIG!
Of course I was driving...and I was most definitely distracted by the monstrosity!
I continued to drive with one eye on the spider, one eye on the road (however that works...probably not very well) and I decided I needed to do something about it.
SO the next stoplight, I grabbed a box of kleenex.
What should I have done? Taken about 50 or so kleenex and killed the bastard! Once and for all!
What did I do? I tried smooshing it....yes, with the whole box.
So OF COURSE the spider is now missing.

Did I hit it?
Where's the body??
I don't see the body!
Did I miss?
Where is it?
All I need to know is if it's alive or dead!!!
Now who knows where it is!?
It's probably after me...
It's probably on my head!
Or burrowing into my ear!
Great...it's laying eggs on me and I'm going to die...

So as the above thought process was happening...I was clearly a little freaked out ;)
When finally I saw it. And, sadly, it was NOT dead.
But he knew...he knew what I had tried to do.
So he began crawling ever closer...taunting me with his menacing spidery legs and fuzzy body.

I did what any rational person would do....DROVE FASTER! I had to get home and away from the beast!
I'm sure the police officer would understand, or at least kill the spider!

He (it's a he now) clearly wanted to torment me because, about 2 minutes from home, he retreated back into the darkness to hide until another day.

Now I couldn't send Scott out to slay the beast and again, I'm stuck. Not knowing where he is or when he'll attack.

It's been over a week. I'm hoping he'll eventually just die on his own.

Is this irrational? Probably...but it doesn't feel that way.
Haven't you seen Arachnophobia :P

What're you afraid of?
How about creepy critters?
What would YOU have done in my situation?

If I die, it's from the eggs he laid in my ear...
Help me.

Love you too.

  1. OMG I HATE SPIDERS!! I would have flipped and done exactly what you did...except I would have told Joe he had to turn the car/house/surrounding area upside down to find and destroy it and he wouldn't be allowed back in till it was done. True story. I don't do bugs well :P

  2. HAHAHA! Even though you were terrified through the whole ordeal it sure made for a great story. You should have gassed the whole car once you got home to kill it because now it's probably laid eggs in the air vents and one day when you're using the AC, your car will spit out little baby spiders all over you.

    1. Glad you liked it ;)
If I didn't have to get around...I totally would've gone for the gassing!
Or wait, you mean gas with bug spray?
I mean gas with gasoline and light it on fire ;)
      That's DEFINITELY HAPPEN!
      DANG THE BABY SPIDERS!
