Rainy Days

I was just listening to the radio when 'I Can See Clearly Now (the rain has gone)' came on...

Well, I'm not going to talk about the song itself at all.
But rather take you on a journey of my thoughts...

It has been VERY rainy here lately and I have mixed feeling about the rain.

I much prefer rain to snow. So mainly I'm just glad the snow is gone ;)
However, with rain, you're almost guaranteed to be soaked unless you have water proof clothes/and umbrella. But at least it's not freezing outside?

Personally, I have a tendency for my mood to follow along with the weather a little bit.
I don't mind a bit of rain...but extended rainy spells generally cause a damper in my spirits.
Extended sunny days, make for a happy Trudy!
Hence why summer, or late spring, or early fall are my favorite!
(Except for the bugs...I HATE the bugs...) XP

But rainy days every here and there - love them! It's a great feeling to be all cozied up at home watching the rain come down and curling up with a book or good movie!

Rainy walks are also nice from time to time, so long as you can have a nice hot shower IMMEDIATELY afterwards! It feels strangely satisfying (to me)!

And I think we all like to watch a thunder/lighting storm every now and then ;)
No?
Just me?
Ok then...

What do you think?
Do you love the rain?

Love you too.

Uninvited 'Guest'

So there's been a few hot days here (not lately...because it's been rainy) and when it's hot, I like to leave my sunroof open to let a little fresh air in.
Well recently, a little something crept in... making the fresh air most definitely NOT worth it.

Now I wouldn't say I have many fears...but bugs and especially spiders (and moths) are pretty up there on my list. (Right behind not being able to have ice cream). It's not a huge issue when they're outside, but when they're in my house or in an small space with me...that's a BIG issue.

At first all I could see was the big web on the right part of my windshield...and as much as I wanted to, I knew I couldn't wipe that away.
Why? Well because then who knows where that critter will go??!
At least when there's a web, he'll generally keep close to that!

After about a week of living (or driving, rather) in a state of fear, the spider unveiled itself...and it was BIG!
Of course I was driving...and I was most definitely distracted by the monstrosity!
I continued to drive with one eye on the spider, one eye on the road (however that works...probably not very well) and I decided I needed to do something about it.
SO the next stoplight, I grabbed a box of kleenex.
What should I have done? Taken about 50 or so kleenex and killed the bastard! Once and for all!
What did I do? I tried smooshing it....yes, with the whole box.
So OF COURSE the spider is now missing.

Did I hit it?
Where's the body??
I don't see the body!
Did I miss?
Where is it?
All I need to know is if it's alive or dead!!!
Now who knows where it is!?
It's probably after me...
It's probably on my head!
Or burrowing into my ear!
Great...it's laying eggs on me and I'm going to die...

So as the above thought process was happening...I was clearly a little freaked out ;)
When finally I saw it. And, sadly, it was NOT dead.
But he knew...he knew what I had tried to do.
So he began crawling ever closer...taunting me with his menacing spidery legs and fuzzy body.

I did what any rational person would do....DROVE FASTER! I had to get home and away from the beast!
I'm sure the police officer would understand, or at least kill the spider!

He (it's a he now) clearly wanted to torment me because, about 2 minutes from home, he retreated back into the darkness to hide until another day.

Now I couldn't send Scott out to slay the beast and again, I'm stuck. Not knowing where he is or when he'll attack.

It's been over a week. I'm hoping he'll eventually just die on his own.

Is this irrational? Probably...but it doesn't feel that way.
Haven't you seen Arachnophobia :P

What're you afraid of?
How about creepy critters?
What would YOU have done in my situation?

If I die, it's from the eggs he laid in my ear...
Help me.

Love you too.

Well...what do you figure?

I'm alive and well.
I've technically had SOME time to blog but I guess I haven't felt like it or perhaps just haven't had anything blog worthy yet.

One day I'll feel like talking and when that day comes....talk, I will ;)

I really do hope you're all doing well!

Remember, if I'm slacking...feel free to email me!

Weekend Shenanigans: TOMS, cookies, and babies!

Oh right...blooooooggg. It hasn't been that long, has it?
Pretty well a week, not so bad!

Did you have a splendid weekend?
What's going on out there?

Here's what Scott and I have been up to . . .

. . . hanging out with the Ben and Frances! It was a gorgeous day on Saturday and we played outside for a little bit, walked for some ice cream and made some dinner. PLUS there was watermelon, which is always awesome ;).
Needlesstosay, it was a good time and we all got some sun :D

. . . made some cookies! Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Sally was what I chose...and they were pretty scrumptious! I followed her recipe fairly exactly, I just added a few less chocolate chips and sprinkles because I thought they looked alright!

They were so soft and fluffy and disappeared far too quick! Guess I should've made a double batch!

. . . went to a baby blessing/shower. It was Scott 2 (my nephew) and his wife Chantae's baby... little Scott Eli. (So many Scott's O.O ...but I think they more call him Eli). Such a little cutie! This is the event I made the cookies for and I figured a couple dozen would be alright for the potluck, but they sure disappeared quickly! My sister Marcie, made some Rice Krispie squares with melted Mars bars and butter and they were SO GOOD! You don't even know... *drool*

. . . I bought my second pair of TOMS. I've been converted! They're just so comfortable and easy to slip on! Green! :D

(Paige, now you have to get yours so we can be twinsies!)

. . .  we saw a couple of movies. On Friday night, we saw Oblivion which was pretty good. It was kind of an interesting movie with a few unexpected twists...I liked it!
I'd probably give it ***.5(3.5)/5 stars. I'd recommend it for those interested in sci-fi/futuristic-y type movies.
Last night, we saw Iron Man 3 which I'd also say is just pretty good. Robert Downey Jr. is a very enjoyable actor (in my opinion). It was well done and I enjoyed it but I didn't walk away thinking - WOW, that was awesome! Overall a good continuing of the story. But I'd still definitely recommend if you're interested in those movies.
(PS, if you DO go see it, there's a clip at the end of the credits...but I personally don't think the clip was worth waiting through all the credits for).
I'd also give this movie a ***.5(3.5)/5 stars.
It looks like there's some good movies coming out soon though!

That's my weekend for the most part!
Now share YOUR weekend!
What's your most exciting event?
Have you seen Oblivion or Iron Man 3?
What did you think?

Love you too.

MAY!

(Google images, of course)
Is it just me, or did April go by INCREDIBLY fast??

May already! Before we know it, Summer will be here! Though it hardly even feels like Spring being that it was snowing the past 2 days -.- The sun did come out today though :D! Maybe here to stay this time??
We'll see about that ;)

April wasn't too terribly busy, but here are the highlights...

- (end of March/the beginning of April) Scott and I bought and moved into our new house. So this month has included a fair amount of work in that regard including...unpacking, getting settled, getting a few new things, and moving the rest of the stuff downstairs into the undeveloped basement to forget about it ;)
But if you haven't yet, you can see the tour of our home here.

- at the beginning of April, I had just finished my 30 day hot yoga challenge...which was awesome!
I loved it SO much that I decided to stick to it and buy a pass so I could continue going! I even tried out, and have been enjoying my new mat (The Mat) from Lululemon. (Here and here). I use it all the time now and I DEFINITELY prefer it to a regular yoga mat now...though I will say, I haven't tried out a regular mat with a hot yoga towel, so I can't say how it compares to that.
I'd say in this past month, I've probably gone about 26ish days out of the 30 because I generally average out to about 6 classes a week. Still enjoying it :D

Yoga kitty pictures are cute! (Google images)

- Scott and I (mainly me), made our way through a rather sizable amount of Easter candy. It was delicious ;)

- We hung out with some good friends on the weekends :D

- I tried baking a few new things (cookies, muffins, banana bread) and they actually all turned out pretty successfully, which is awesome!

- I saw The Host, Jurassic Park {with Scott on a 'cheap Tuesday' in 3D...3D made it pretty awesome and there were even a few extended scenes}, and part of Pain & Gain. I'd recommend Jurassic Park (of course), The Host is an iffy one, and I don't think I'd recommend Pain & Gain to anyone. But to each their own!

What were your highlights this month??
Try some baking?
See some movies? ;)

I don't quite know what's in store for May...but we shall see!

Do you have any big plans for this month??

Love you too.

And let us end things on a George note, because it's the best way to do it.

We found him hiding in the bed. Good thing I didn't jump on him!

A weekend started with pizza is good

Monday, monday, monday.
You know, we only don't like you because you bring the weekend to a close and the workdays to a start. We tell you we don't like it, yet you keep doing it.
*sigh*

This weekend wasn't too busy for us, in fact it was a pretty good weekend. (I never remember to take pictures...sorry!

-Friday night started with a pizza party! It was out to Cochrane to Scott's aunt and uncle who have the pizza oven. Lots of good company accompanied by an equally large amount of pizza. Needlesstosay I was very stuffed and sick of pizza by the end. (Though I wouldn't mind some pizza now...)
(Nice to see Greg, Louise, Rob, Mel, Keira, Alana (and her kidlets), Holly, DJ, Paige, Addison and even Dawn for a bit).

-Saturday started with yoga (of course). Then I made some delicious banana bread, which of course I didn't take a picture of....but I can share the recipe if you like :)! (Very moist and vanilla-ey)
Then my parents, along with some friends (June and Gary), came up to see our place and new furniture. It was nice to see you all and because it was Gary's birthday, we went out for dinner at Swiss Chalet. It was actually pretty good! I had never been, and my first experience was rather pleasant. Everyone else seemed to enjoy as well. We also watched a bit of Puss in Boots which is kind of a cute movie :)

We then got a call from Scott 2 (my nephew) and his wife Chantae, they were coming in for dinner and a movie and they invited us to join!
(Side note: yes, this nephew is about a year older than me).
We were already pretty full, but we decided to join on the movie. The movie we decided to try was 'Pain & Gain' and I will say, we walked out of the movie. It was a bit much (nudity, crude, and kind of stupid) and the story line wasn't even all that good so we decided to head out...to get ice cream :D So instead we had ice cream and chatted for a couple hours.
It was fun guys, we'll have to do it again soon (and pick a better movie...)!

-Sunday was more of a relaxing day. It was also a bath and groom George kind of day. He did pretty good and then he was extra soft and fluffy :D

How was your weekend??

Have you seen any good movies lately?

I want to see Iron Man 3...

(Some of you may like Pain & Gain...it just wasn't for us, we watched the trailer before hand and it still wasn't what we were expecting).

Love you too.

PS. Did you see the house tour? ;)

Virtual Tour

You've asked for it...I'm delivering!

So as I'm SURE you know by now, Scott and I bought a house and moved in pretty well a month ago.
We've got things a little settled, so I figured I can show you what it looks like!

As you've probable seen, here's a view of the front!

'Tis a quaint little house!

Here's the front entry/living room area.

Like our new furniture? :D

Here's a more full picture of the living room area. Want to come watch a movie?
We got the TV for a pretty good deal when we got the furniture :)

Can you spot Scott's polaroid collection??
He claimed the mantel as his own...

Turn to the left of the living room area, and you can see the kitchen/dining room.
Right away, I loved the warm wood, granite counter tops and big fridge :D

We've even got ourselves a little dining room table now!
 (It was Scott's Grandma's)

Right around the corner, there's the back door, closet and this little half bath.
AKA. George's bathroom. ;)

As you can maybe see, we need to mount something on the wall to hold the towel ;)

This is the view after directly coming from upstairs.
The door to go downstairs is directly to the left, right across from the kitchen.

I can assure you, there are no pictures of the basement because...
1. It's not developed.
2. That's where a lot of boxes/things we don't use very often are
3. Ya...it's not organized yet ;)
I will say though, the washer/dryer are both downstairs as well.

Heading upstairs!
I didn't take a picture directly of the view, but you'll get the drift.
(This is the view from the master bedroom).
So on the left, are the stairs that curve around and to the left to go down.
And you can also see this little built in cabinet.
Directly ahead would be Scott's office, to the right is the spare bedroom and right across from the stairs is the spare (Scott's) bathroom.

Let's go to the office first!
Basically lots of Lego, books, etc and the computer.
Of course Scott made sure the office was the first thing all unpacked ;)

It gets really awesome light throughout the day, it's nice!

Moving to the right into the spare room...
Awesome paint, right? :D
The Lego flooded into this room as well, along with Scott's keyboard which is alright.
George frequently hides under this bed or cozies up on top.

Feel free to visit! But be prepared to share with George ;)

I didn't take a picture of Scott's bathroom, but I did take a picture of mine and they look fairly similar.
So use your imagination, and we'll move on...across the hall and into the master bedroom!

So apparently, I should've cleaned up a bit before taking the picture...oh well.
George likes to sit on the little black box and look out the window.
On the right you can see a bit of our dressers and directly past them is the walk in closet.
And to the left is the en-suite bathroom.

First, we'll go to the closet!

Yes, the closet needs some work. Those boxes are my shoes which still haven't been unpacked ;D
But it's pretty big, hey?
Still got lots of room in there! ;)

And over to the bathroom!

So this picture doesn't really show it all, but it's not all that exciting.
Tub/shower, toilet, vanity, mirror, little medicine cabinet type thing on the wall and a little window to the right.
Pretty standard!
Scott's is very similar except he has a grey shower curtain and no cabinet on the wall :D

And that's basically the dealio!
In the back, there's a little deck, a small yard and a place to build a garage.
We're hoping to build that either this year or next :)

Hope this little tour has been satisfactory.
Any questions or if you're curious about anything...let me know!

Just because you've got the tour doesn't mean you can't come visit ;)
Really, this tour is unofficial...

Love you too.

xo T

PS. TGIF! Have a great weekend :D
