Weekend Shenanigans: Fish, DQ, and still sick...

So this past weekend, Scotty came home! I got to pick him and some fish up from the airport.
Yuck. (Not Scott, the fish).
I'm not a fan ;)

Then we got to hang out with Ben and Frances a bit, which was nice because it had been a while... Probably almost a month?
We got together for ice cream cake from DQ (as per our tradition) for Frances' birthday (which was the day before).
They also told us some big news! Not my place to share...on here for sure. But congratulations guys!

Sunday afternoon, the Russell's (well Russell girls, from Strathmore) came in to see the house, see the new kitten, and to share some delicious brownies and home made ice cream. A delicious treat indeed ;)~!

All weekend I had a squeaky...almost nonexistent voice due to my cold, and although my voice has come back...I'm still feeling sick :(
SO once again, I'm hoping I can get rid of it soon!

Fairly low key weekend on my end...

Was your weekend more eventful than mine??
At least less fishy?

Love you too.

PS. Did you see that my spider story came to an end?

PPS. We should probably end on a Bruce note ;)

Weekend Shenanigans: TOMS, cookies, and babies!

Oh right...blooooooggg. It hasn't been that long, has it?
Pretty well a week, not so bad!

Did you have a splendid weekend?
What's going on out there?

Here's what Scott and I have been up to . . .

. . . hanging out with the Ben and Frances! It was a gorgeous day on Saturday and we played outside for a little bit, walked for some ice cream and made some dinner. PLUS there was watermelon, which is always awesome ;).
Needlesstosay, it was a good time and we all got some sun :D

. . . made some cookies! Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Sally was what I chose...and they were pretty scrumptious! I followed her recipe fairly exactly, I just added a few less chocolate chips and sprinkles because I thought they looked alright!

They were so soft and fluffy and disappeared far too quick! Guess I should've made a double batch!

. . . went to a baby blessing/shower. It was Scott 2 (my nephew) and his wife Chantae's baby... little Scott Eli. (So many Scott's O.O ...but I think they more call him Eli). Such a little cutie! This is the event I made the cookies for and I figured a couple dozen would be alright for the potluck, but they sure disappeared quickly! My sister Marcie, made some Rice Krispie squares with melted Mars bars and butter and they were SO GOOD! You don't even know... *drool*

. . . I bought my second pair of TOMS. I've been converted! They're just so comfortable and easy to slip on! Green! :D

(Paige, now you have to get yours so we can be twinsies!)

. . .  we saw a couple of movies. On Friday night, we saw Oblivion which was pretty good. It was kind of an interesting movie with a few unexpected twists...I liked it!
I'd probably give it ***.5(3.5)/5 stars. I'd recommend it for those interested in sci-fi/futuristic-y type movies.
Last night, we saw Iron Man 3 which I'd also say is just pretty good. Robert Downey Jr. is a very enjoyable actor (in my opinion). It was well done and I enjoyed it but I didn't walk away thinking - WOW, that was awesome! Overall a good continuing of the story. But I'd still definitely recommend if you're interested in those movies.
(PS, if you DO go see it, there's a clip at the end of the credits...but I personally don't think the clip was worth waiting through all the credits for).
I'd also give this movie a ***.5(3.5)/5 stars.
It looks like there's some good movies coming out soon though!

That's my weekend for the most part!
Now share YOUR weekend!
What's your most exciting event?
Have you seen Oblivion or Iron Man 3?
What did you think?

Love you too.
