Still loving this song...

TGIF!
We're now diving into the weekend with only 5(!) days left until Christmas!

Today, I was listening to the radio (Lite 95.9 "Calgary's Official Christmas Station") when an interesting they shared an interesting statistic.

Are you ready all ready for Christmas (Canadians)??
69% said they still had at least 1 or more gifts to get.
22% said they haven't even started.
(So I guess approx 9% said yes?)

WHAT THE HECK?!?!

That is definitely procrastination. You go have fun with that...because you're dumb.
Sorry I'm not sorry...

Me?
Please...I've been ready for pretty well a month with a few minor additions!

So which category do you fall under??
Yes, I'll judge. But it's okay! :)

Early this morning, I had to take Hettie to the airport. It was sad to say goodbye, but we had a fun week :)
I'll give more details from the week hopefully tomorrow!

For now, I'll continue with the regular 12 Days of Christmas (Trudy style)!

On the eighth day of Christmas a Trudy gave to you, eight festive goodies, endless heaps of snow, six Christmas songs, fiiive strriiiiiiinnnnggs of liiiiiggggghhhts, four candy canes, three snuggly blankies, two fuzzy kittens, and a small fiber optic treeeeee.

Yesterday, I asked what you're craving now that Christmas is almost here.

What I'm craving is festive goodies! Both baking them and eating them (of course)!

(picture from last year)

Have you done any baking yet?
Or are you a baker?

I'm no baker by any means...but I do love holiday baking! Everything is so tasty!
Plus, I think it's kind of fun!

Last year, I made a LOT of things. It took lots of time...but they all seemed pretty tasty.
Here's a few examples of what I made last year.

This year, I won't really be doing any repeats from last year...but we'll see.
I'll probably be making some version of Christmas White Trash again.
It's just yummy...and very easy...

ANYWAYS. I haven't even STARTED yet. So I need to get on it...ASAP!
I think that's where I'll be tomorrow ;)

Annnnddd onto the song of the day!
I know I mentioned this song last year and I STILL love it.
It's pretty.

Sarah McLachlan's cover sounds very nice as well!

Who does it better?
Or do you think they pretty well sound the same?

I'm done for today.
Poutine calls ;)

Love you too.

Weekend Shenanigans: TOMS, cookies, and babies!

Oh right...blooooooggg. It hasn't been that long, has it?
Pretty well a week, not so bad!

Did you have a splendid weekend?
What's going on out there?

Here's what Scott and I have been up to . . .

. . . hanging out with the Ben and Frances! It was a gorgeous day on Saturday and we played outside for a little bit, walked for some ice cream and made some dinner. PLUS there was watermelon, which is always awesome ;).
Needlesstosay, it was a good time and we all got some sun :D

. . . made some cookies! Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Sally was what I chose...and they were pretty scrumptious! I followed her recipe fairly exactly, I just added a few less chocolate chips and sprinkles because I thought they looked alright!

They were so soft and fluffy and disappeared far too quick! Guess I should've made a double batch!

. . . went to a baby blessing/shower. It was Scott 2 (my nephew) and his wife Chantae's baby... little Scott Eli. (So many Scott's O.O ...but I think they more call him Eli). Such a little cutie! This is the event I made the cookies for and I figured a couple dozen would be alright for the potluck, but they sure disappeared quickly! My sister Marcie, made some Rice Krispie squares with melted Mars bars and butter and they were SO GOOD! You don't even know... *drool*

. . . I bought my second pair of TOMS. I've been converted! They're just so comfortable and easy to slip on! Green! :D

(Paige, now you have to get yours so we can be twinsies!)

. . .  we saw a couple of movies. On Friday night, we saw Oblivion which was pretty good. It was kind of an interesting movie with a few unexpected twists...I liked it!
I'd probably give it ***.5(3.5)/5 stars. I'd recommend it for those interested in sci-fi/futuristic-y type movies.
Last night, we saw Iron Man 3 which I'd also say is just pretty good. Robert Downey Jr. is a very enjoyable actor (in my opinion). It was well done and I enjoyed it but I didn't walk away thinking - WOW, that was awesome! Overall a good continuing of the story. But I'd still definitely recommend if you're interested in those movies.
(PS, if you DO go see it, there's a clip at the end of the credits...but I personally don't think the clip was worth waiting through all the credits for).
I'd also give this movie a ***.5(3.5)/5 stars.
It looks like there's some good movies coming out soon though!

That's my weekend for the most part!
Now share YOUR weekend!
What's your most exciting event?
Have you seen Oblivion or Iron Man 3?
What did you think?

Love you too.
