New Hair!

Hello my fine feathered friends!
I just ate ice cream...now I feel fat (oh please, don't pretend like it doesn't happen to you). At least I'm going to yoga in a couple hours. YAY!

Today was a good day...an errand filled day, which is nice sometimes.
Did you see my last post?
If you DIDN'T, I was basically reminiscing on my giveaway last year and letting you know there's another one on the way!
AND TODAY, I picked up the laaaast few items. So I've grouped things together, and there are 9 options... 9! I'd say that's pretty awesome of me, no? ;)
And think how good your odds will be! Especially once you do all the things to get lots of entries!
WOO HOO!

Annnnddd that's all I've got to say about that for now. Just remember, it's on the way. I've still got to get a few particulars sorted...figure what will get you entries and decide when and how long I want to run it for. BUT IT WILL BE COMING SOON!
Watch for it.

Moving on. SO if you've been reading my blog for awhile (or if you know me...), you may have realized that I can be fairly impulsive. Especially when it come to my hair.
I think about what I want for a while, try to talk myself out of doing anything for now until one day - BAM!
I can't help myself anymore!
So I called a salon that I've gone to quite a few times, asked who would be available the soonest and booked it in (as I was driving to the mall...I guess I was hoping for the best!).
So I sat down and told her I was interested in getting some color in (I know, right?).
She said...alright, are you looking to go lighter or darker?
I said...I'm looking to go purple!
And she was all for it!
So this happened...

Looking good.
It was really quite exciting for me!

After half an hour it was time to rinse out and cut!
And after 3 hours with this girl (who was really quite pleasant actually), the final look was complete.

No, the purple really isn't all that drastic. From a distance, my hair just looks darker really.
But I still like it - a lot!
As for the cut, she didn't really take much from the length...mainly just layered and gave me bangs!
I'm happy!
Here's me today with the hair (not the face obviously...) au naturel after washing it!
YAY!

(Actually, I don't feel like I look overly happy in this picture...)
Oh well. I know I'm happy.

And that's that!
Ya, I'm done for now.

Love you too.

Weekend Shenanigans: Hair, Cookies and Family

TGIF! I know, I know...the weekend is pretty well here! And little old me is talking about last weekend. Woohoo~!

SO! If you know me...you may or may not know that I frequently get bored of my hair. Yes, I only got my hair cut about 2 months ago and I could technically go about 6 months to a year! I'm always wanting to try something new, change it up, get it cut, or even colored (even though I've never got it colored...not really anyways). Heck, I've even got a perm because I was bored!

The past little while, I've been considering taking my hair shorter...but I was just too scared! But this past Saturday (after hot yoga...with my sweaty french braid) I decided I was going to go for it! I went to a different salon and stylist than I usually go to and asked her about short hair on me and what she thought would look good and this was the end result!

It's not NEAR as bad as I was expecting. It's a long bob...so it's fairly short in the back. But I was impressed! However, it was a pretty big shocker because I haven't my hair this short since...when it grew out from birth?
I liked how it looked straight...but how would it look with my natural waves?
The verdict?
Eh, it's alright. Looks pretty similar to how it normally looks...just shorter (duh -.-).
I do really like it though.
Just feel like it makes me look about 15 or so ;)

What do you think??

Lately, I've been on a bit of a cookie kick...always making basically the same recipe. I've mentioned Sally several times before, and I'm mentioning her again because...well....she makes delicious things!
So the cookies I've been making are Chewy Chocolate Chunk Cookies and guys...they are goooooooood~!
I generally follow her recipe to a T (well, besides my realizing that I was actually using one egg + one egg WHITE as opposed to one egg + one egg YOLK...whoops! They were still good) ;).
{One different thing about this recipe is it uses some CORN STARCH, which makes for some extra chewy cookies}.
However, last weekend I decided I wanted to try something a little different...I wanted peanut buttery cookies.
So I opened a few old Reese's Pieces and (chopped up) Reese from Halloween (hey, judge all you want...they were still good) threw 'em in and called it a day!
Guys...

...these were yummy cookies ;)
Especially fresh, warm and gooey!

I would highly recommend them or any of Sally's treat's really ;)

{Oh and Nani...these are chilled overnight, making them chewy, thick and delicious!}

I also got to spend some time with the Russell's out in Strathmore. My niece, Ruth, was in a musical at school...The Little Mermaid. She was the herald (the little seahorse that makes announcements to the King)...she did good! Actually, the whole musical itself was quite good and humorous!
Especially considering it's high school acting ;D
Just kidding! Well done!

And congratulations to my 3 nieces that graduated over the past month!
Cassidy, Ruth, and Kenz...you all looked great!
Almost done!

And on that note...I shall bid you good day and good weekend!

What did you get up to last weekend?
What're your plans for this weekend?
Make anything delicious lately?

Scott gets back from fishing tomorrow - YAY!
I've missed you!

Love you too.

And I'll leave you with Bruce....because I think it's a swell idea!

(He fell asleep while waiting for me to finish showering and such)

PS. Did you read my post on pushing yourself?

PPS. Happy Birthday Frances!

PPPPPPP(?!?!)S. Some new 'rules' on sunscreen. Thought they were interesting and probably good to know!

To cut!

The weekend came and left far too quickly for my likings...

So I got my cleaning done, a little more packing up, looked at some houses and... GOT MY HAIR CUT  YO!

Is it really that exciting? Well maybe not to you...but I was excited :D

So Friday night...I went to hot yoga on my own (which is fine - good class!), then I got home and partied (and by partied, I mean I went to bed). ;)
It was such a beautiful sunny day too!

Saturday...slept in! (Til like 8...lame right?) Then I did my little workout, my cleanings and laundrings, my shower and clothing myself and then I headed to the mall.

So I went from this....

To this! What do you think?? :D

Really you should just be happy I put some mascara on for all y'all. ;)
Anyways, I like it! It's so light and it even flows back with the wind from me walking! I didn't realize how heavy my hair had gotten til I chopped many inches of it off. YAY! It was quite the carnage pile on the floor, I assure you...
Then I went and saw a few homes!

Sunday I could NOT sleep...it was horrible. I was wide awake yet felt dead to the world when I was awake by 6. :<
So after laying in bed all cozy with George for another hour or so, I eventually got up and looked at this horrible sight...

Ew~! The weather was like 12 above on Friday!
And after a few hours is wasn't looking any better...

This morning I was digging my vehicle out of a mound of snow...it was rather unpleasant.

But today also marked day one of my 30 day hot yoga challenge! So far so good! I actually missed the class I originally planned on going to. I don't know if the schedule changed or what...but apparently the class was at 6 and not 6:30, so I missed it. I was there by about 6:15 and the next class wasn't until 7:30. I decided I was there and I was at least going to get a little workout in! So in the hall I was doing my thing until about 7 and then I started feeling sad that I was missing my first day of the 30 day challenge (because there was no way I was going back later...).
So I called and asked if I could come in a little late so I could catch some yoga... and that's what I did!
And then the drive to work was horrible with traffic and snow and whatnot.
And then my bumper fell off.
True story.

All I can say is, this snow better go away quick :l

Was your weekend more exciting than mine?? Do tell!

Love you too.

Should it stay or should it go?

First off, it just took me an hour to get home... AN HOUR. Traffic was awful and made me want to vomit with disgust (plus I was hungry...).

Speaking of hungry...want to know one of my favourite sweet snackies? My own mini fruit salad (kind of)! I cut up an apple and an orange (or more fruit if I'm sharing), sprinkle on about half a tablespoon of sugar, add a little lemon juice and BAM! deliciousness is born. ;)

(At least I think so...)

TGIF! I don't know about all of you... But I'm DEFINITELY ready for a weekend. ;)

How about you? Any plans??

No big plans on my end...clean the house, get some groceries, pack up some more things, and maybe look at some houses - we'll see...

I'll also probably go to hot yoga again tonight...guess I'll be flying solo as everyone is tied up (not literally...).

Another thing I've considered doing for quite a while...getting a haircut!
The last time I got my haircut was in August last year. That's not a HORRIBLE length of time, but I'd say its about time for a trim (mainly because I love hair cuts) ;).
But I have a mini hair dilemma on my hands... Do I just get an inch or 2 off to trim it?
Or do I take 4+ inches off??
I've been getting bored of it! Is it time for a change??

(Excuse the blind makeup-less mole rat)

What do YOU think?

WELL that's about it. Hope your Friday was alright and you're up to something pleasant this weekend... Whether it be exciting or nice and relaxed.

Love you too.

xo T

Weekend plans?? What do you think of my little fruit salad? Recommendations for my sad hair?

(This is my hair after the cut in August...it's grown a lot!)
