Hurts so good.

You know how I went to hot yoga (after 2 and a half weeks of no yoga) and all was just fine and dandy?
Well, sure it was fine DURING, but later that evening and the next day...I was SORE!
Good sore...but sore nonetheless.

You know what also happened yesterday?
Tammy, Conner and Tyler (family from Texas) flew in.
Whattttt?!?!
They just missed us TOO much ;)
SO, we picked them up and then we headed to the Stampede! (Calgary's rodeo/exhibition/fair/etc)
Not only was it HOT, it was CRAZY BUSY! I'm pretty sure it was Kids Day...greaaat -.-
But we still had a lot of fun!
. . .Fun rides (though we didn't get to do as many as we'd like because the lines were all crazy like)
. . .Deliciously horrible foods (fried bread, deep fried oreos, pineapple whip, poutine, root beer, and LOTS of lemonade)
. . .Exploring the stands of things for sale and buying a few things :D
. . .Discovering there's now a new model of Vitamix (7500) that just came out that's not only more conveniently sized and powerful, but also more quiet. DANG IT!
. . .Getting a little bit burnt even though I'd just been in Texas for 2 weeks. Though I guess it's my own fault for not putting any sunscreen on, PLUS it was a long day. And Scott was more burnt than me ;) Poor Scotty.

Today I got to come into work...that's never fun after time off. But I guess it's nice to make a little money after vacation. Needless-to-say, getting up at 5:30 and going to hot yoga after almost 3 weeks of waking up at my leisure... just DID NOT happen. Oh well!

Home, sweet home...

Or rather...kittens, sweet kittens ;)

We're back in good old Canada, but really...we miss Texas!

But alas, here we are and I've missed my furry little friends.

We're all unpacked with our laundry all done and I suppose it's nice to be home. 

Today I went to my first yoga class since being gone and it was actually not so bad!

I was a little tight and tired...but all in all - good!

Bruce also had to go in for his second set of shots today...poor little poopsie!

He didn't mind it so much, but he absolutely HATED the car ride. 

He wanted out of his little carrier - MEOW.

But anyways...Texas was great!

I don't know if I have any major stories, but we really enjoyed ourselves and if it weren't for missing the fuzz faces...we may have extended our trip.

Any excitement and vacations going on out there?

Past Weekend

Ok, ok...just quick.

I was thinking to myself... Well, if I don't get the post up from the weekend, then I guarantee it won't be discussed.
So let's just get 'er done. Right? RIGHT!

Friday PM/Saturday AM, was probably one of our first 'major' (whatever that means) cleans since getting the house 2 weeks prior. Full on sweep, vacuum, mopping (well...Swiffer Wetjet), bathrooms, etc.
Looks good yo! Maybe I'll even get some pictures up sometime ;)

So why the big cleaning sesh?
Well first off, it was probably necessary.
Second, we had guests coming over!

Guests?
Tyler and Holly! Scott's cousin (Tyler) and wife (Holly), whom we hadn't seen since New Year's (even though apparently I didn't mention anyone in the post...go me).
(They have a blog here, but it hasn't been updated in quite some time...*nudge nudge*)

Menu?
Taco fiesta! We hadn't had taco's in a LONG while and we were craving them...so ya! Taco's!
Holly and Tyler brought an apple, strawberry, blackberry - crumbleish dessert that was SO GOOD! Delish~!

Events?
Well obviously, LOTS of talking...but we also watched a movie as per Scott's request.
'Take Me Home Tonight' which is actually not that old (2011) but it's set in the 80's.

Here's the description from IMDb...

"Four years after graduation, an awkward high school genius uses his sister's boyfriend's Labor Day party as the perfect opportunity to make his move on his high school crush."

And that basically sums it up...with lots of great 80's tunes along the way!
To me, it was just ok. There were funny parts, there were stupid parts, but overall it was alright.
I'd probably only give it **.5(2.5)/5.
You, movie, were just ok to me. 

These were the main events from our weekend.

We shall have to do it again soon :)

(OH! Sunday I also made these banana muffins courtesy of Sally, which were also scrumptious, no thanks to me not following the recipe all that well. Heh heh. And of course, I have no pictures. Just look at hers, they're better anyways. Just believe me, they're good!)
