All Caught Up and Easter Bunny Visits

3 posts this week?!
That's probably a record since...Christmas.

My life is pretty boring guys. I share with you when something happens, but even when something happens...it's not always exciting.

So as I told you, we just bought a house.
And I can share a post on the process if you'd like.

It was actually only conditionally sold at this point... but oh well! You get the drift ;)

I also just finished my 30 Day Hot Yoga Challenge!
But the yoga hasn't stopped there! I realized I loved it, and have still been going every morning!
Though I'm not longer going to FORCE myself to go everyday, I will keep going when I feel like it because I love it! But I do want to add some regular workouts back in as well ;)

There's just a couple more things to update you on to get you all caught up to date!

Easter! So we moved into the new house on Good Friday, completed our inspection to get the damage deposit at our old place back around noon on Saturday. From there, we continued on to Scott's parents house for an Easter feast(er)! Turkey and all the delicious fixin's...including pie ;) It was delcious!

Sunday around noon, it was back to the new home to try and get some things done!
Luckily, Monday was a holiday! So I headed to some hot yoga with Mel and then came back home to be pleasantly surprised by my own Easter egg hunt!
Needlesstosay, it was a little excessive...deliciously excessive!

Don't worry, we're still working on it ;)

Other than that, I've still been working and Scott's on spring breakup right now (lucky duck...). We're still trying to get everything all sorted out!
So far, we've basically gotten...
-most of the kitchen
-our clothes
-Scott's office
-and the living room/electronics are slowly coming together.

We got a new TV...a big TV. We also ordered a couch which should be here in the next 3/4 weeks - YAY!

AND THAT'S IT!
You're all caught up ;)

So how was your Easter? Any visit from the Easter Bunny? ;)
And what's your update??

Love you too.

PS. It's Friday! Have a good weekend! :D

My 30 Day Hot Yoga Challenge

As many of you have probably seen, I decided to do a 30 day hot yoga challenge from March 4th to April 2nd.

Mission accomplished?
Yes and no. I actually completed 31 classes in those 30 days, HOWEVER...I did miss one day (Easter Sunday). I doubled up and went twice on a couple days, but technically it's not a 30 class challenge in 30 days...it's a 30 day challenge. It just wasn't possible for me to go that day though, so in my eyes...I did pretty dang good ;)

My results?
I wasn't going for weight loss or anything because I did not change my diet in the slightest. I actually have no idea what I weigh right now because the scale is still packed away somewhere. I will say though, I know I haven't gained weight and ultimately I feel not only more flexible, but also stronger! I feel energized each and every day even though I'm getting up at 5 in the morning.
I would also agree that I feel like it detoxifies. Would I feel better if I were eating perfectly clean? Very likely.
But I'd say I feel pretty clean inside and out.

What now?
Well to be honest... I'm hooked! I already have the next month lined up, with more in store!
I love it, and though I may not continue to go EVERY single day (who knows...I might!), I still want to go at least 4-6 days a week.
However, I have been missing doing some regular workouts as well.

Would I recommend it?
YES! I love it, every class is a challenge because you have to push yourself even just a little bit further.
Though it may not be for everyone, you should definitely try it out!
It is fairly pricey, but if you can work it into your budget - I recommend it.
Most, if not all, studios have an introductory offer for either a week or a month - whatever you're able to commit to!
PLUS! Moksha Yoga Calgary (and Calgary West) {which is where I've been going} are both offering deals on April 5, 6, 7 for 15% off class passes or 25% off year admission. ;)
So take that into consideration...or don't, but I'm glad I did!

I honestly can't say how other studios are, because I've only tried Moksha. I will say that at the Moksha studio, I do prefer both the Moksha Flow and Hot Fusion classes to just the Moksha as there's more variety {but I still do Moksha 3+ times/week}. I've also done some research into Bikram yoga and although I haven't tried it, I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as it's the same poses every time. And there's even more studios around...so do your research!

And if you're not into hot yoga, you could also try out some regular yoga OR you could always just do some regular old yoga at home!

What to expect if you DO try hot yoga?
First off, make sure you give it a good chance. Some days are better than others. Some days I feel like a master yogi, and others...well I feel like collapsing into a puddle of my own sweat.
Some classes are EXTREMELY hot...other classes are just warm. It varies A LOT.
Expect to sweat a lot, especially if it's a fully hot class.

What to bring?
-yoga mat (obviously)
-1-3 towels (1. for laying on the mat when it's too slippery, 2. a small one for wiping sweat off and 3. another towel if you plan on showering after{you'll figure out what works for you})
{I wasn't joking when I said you sweat a lot} ;)
-water, definitely

SO this is just my experience and opinion. To each their own and take from this, whatever you want.
Any questions, feel free to ask!
OR if you want to join me, let me know :D!

Love you too.

Scott and I are kind of grown up.

Hey! So I've wanted to update you guys...but there has been NO TIME!

Many of you have heard through the grapevine, or seen in comments and so on...but I haven't OFFICIALLY said it.

As you probably noticed, I had been doing a LOT of packing lately because our lease was actually up on March 30th. Yes, it was a short lease...we only signed on for 9 months because we knew we wanted to start looking at houses as well.

But did we end up looking for houses? Ya...no.
Scott was gone a lot, and I was not only busy, but it was very difficult to look at houses and share with Scott when he couldn't really see them in person.

Suddenly, April was FAST approaching and we had gotten nowhere...so I realized something had to be done. I started covering all my bases...
1.asking for an extension in our lease if necessary
2.looking at house possibilities
3.looking at other rent possibilities (because really, we were just kind of sick of our property management company and needed a bit more space).

I began to realize that unless we really couldn't find anything we wanted to buy, renting was kind of ridiculous to continue. We were wanting to buy a house soon regardless, and at least the money going towards rent could go towards the impending mortgage.

So I did a lot of internet researching on houses and then set up some appointments and really fell in love with one in particular. It was a nice community, and a very nice, and not too old, little home. So I contacted Scott, sent him the link and told him we'd have to act fast if he thought he'd like it at all. So, he said it looked nice, he trusted my judgement and we made an offer (with conditions of course).
He then made arrangements to finally come see the property and he approved! Our deposit was in and then a bunch of crazy business had to happen to get this all done in time, for possession March 28th!
It was a busy busy time. BUSY BUSY!

So we got all packed up and had possession on the 28th, got a few things taken care of that day, and then we had a big moving day set. Good Friday (the 29th)!
We told everyone to arrive about 10am, but some people (my parents) began arriving around 9:30. So we just started hauling everything outside quickly to get ready to load into all the helping vehicles/trailer. We had lots of help and we were all quick workers! Everything was out and loaded up in about 2 hours!

We then went over to the new place to unload while a few stayed behind to do the few last minute cleanings.
Again, everything was unloaded quickly and we even got some things unpacked and set up!

We had an awesome crew and appreciate all the help SO MUCH~!
HUGE thanks to...
- Scott and my parents (the trailer was a huge help!)
- Paige (Scott's sister)
- Rob (Scott's brother)
- Ben and Frances
- Dave
- Daniel
You were all AWESOME!
(And a big thanks to Ben, Frances, and Daniel for staying later to help things get set up and then hang out).

I had another picture to put up...but I just can't figure out how to edit it at this moment. So for now, here's a picture of the house - our house!

This is all I really have time for today... but that's my exciting news :D

My hot yoga challenge is done. But no time to discuss that today!

Would you be interested in hearing about the home buying process? Is that just common sense?
Haha. Let me know!!

I haven't been update with the outside world...what's new with you?? And how was your Easter?? :D

Come visit ;) (OR pay for us to come visit you! Because ya...we're on the broke end of things...).

Love you too.

PS. I'm a GREAT aunt now. Crazy, hey?
(I mean I've always been a great, as in awesome, aunt...but now I'm a great aunt as in a nephew of mine, and his wife, had a baby). Congratulations to you guys!
